Statement 2013 – 14
The centre aims to:
- provide a platform
for cutting-edge research in corporate and financial regulation;
- enhance our
understanding of the regulation of financial markets and corporate governance in
the India and other jurisdictions;
- facilitate research
in the financial sector including areas such as capital markets, cross border investments,
banking regulation, security regulation, infrastructure regulation, anti-trust,
real estate and corporate governance; and
- foster the development
of knowledge, policy analysis, and scholarship in these areas.
Statement
of Values
- Excellence: The Centre is firstly committed to excellence in legal
research, having high standards of integrity, academic freedom and scholarship.
- Inclusivity: The Centre believes that corporations no longer operate
separately from the society but very much within it, giving rise to the need to
include social, environmental, cultural and gender considerations in corporate and
financial regulation.
- Plurality: The Center appreciates the existence of a plurality
of methods of research and critical analysis and respects the strength that a diversity
of perspectives and backgrounds brings.
- Openness: The Centre recognizes the importance of sharing information
and allowing for the free exchange of ideas regardless of position or affiliation
with outside interests.
